⚡ EVERYONE FROZE… EXCEPT ME
Part 2: The Watchers
I should’ve run.
The moment it looked at me… I should’ve turned and run.
But I didn’t.
I couldn’t.
It didn’t have eyes.
Not really.
Just a smooth, shifting surface where a face should be… like darkness trying to pretend to be human.
And somehow—
I knew it was staring directly at me.
My chest tightened.
“Stay back…” I whispered, even though my voice shook.
The thing tilted its head.
Like it was… curious.
Then it moved.
Not fast.
Not slow.
Just… wrong.
Like it wasn’t walking—it was sliding through the air.
I stumbled backward.
“Nope. Nope. I’m done.”
I turned and ran.
My footsteps echoed loudly across the frozen compound.
Everything else stayed silent.
Too silent.
I didn’t stop until I reached the classroom.
I slammed the door shut behind me and leaned against it, breathing hard.
“It’s just one thing… just one…” I muttered.
Trying to convince myself.
Then I looked up.
And my heart dropped.
There were more.
Three of them.
Standing inside the classroom.
Perfectly still.
Like they had always been there.
Watching.
“How…?” I whispered.
I slowly stepped back.
They didn’t move.
Not yet.
Then one of them twitched.
Just slightly.
And suddenly—
All three turned toward me at the same time.
I froze.
My mind screamed.
RUN.
But my body didn’t move.
Because something worse happened.
One of them… spoke.
Not out loud.
Not with a voice.
But directly in my head.
“You’re not supposed to be awake.”
I gasped and grabbed my head.
“What are you?!”
The thing took a step closer.
The air around it felt… heavy.
Like pressure.
Like something was pushing against reality itself.
“You are not part of this moment.”
“I don’t understand!” I shouted.
“I didn’t do anything!”
Silence.
Then—
“You are a mistake.”
My heart pounded harder.
“No… no I’m not…”
The three figures began moving slowly toward me.
Cornering me.
“Mistakes must be corrected.”
Panic exploded in my chest.
I turned, looking for an escape.
Windows.
Door.
Anything.
But as I reached for the door—
It opened on its own.
And something even worse stood there.
Taller.
Darker.
Different.
This one didn’t just feel wrong…
It felt powerful.
The smaller ones stopped moving instantly.
Like they were afraid.
The tall one stepped forward.
And for the first time…
I felt something close to fear from them.
Then it looked at me.
And spoke.
“Wait.”
Everything went still.
Even the others.
It stepped closer.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Studying me.
Then it said something that made my blood run cold:
“This one… is aware.”
Silence filled the room.
And then—
“That changes everything.”
